“Investigating the reciprocal relationship between muscle health and whole-body health at the Muscle Health Research Centre“
Professor in the School of Kinesiology and Health Sciences and Muscle Health Research Centre, York University. Our research focuses on identifying mechanisms that cause muscle weakness in specific disorders, or mediate improvements in muscle with exercise, with a focus on the role of energy metabolism and redox biology as regulators of muscle function. We also investigate how mitochondrial metabolism dictates cell death or growth in cancer.
